After our first meeting we decided to do our project based on the Black Spotted Cuscus and it's environment in Papua New Guinea
We compiled all our info and research into a master doc to able to share with each other
The next step was to create our script to film!
Next was to find a suitable date, with my group having students from overseas, timing was important!

In the Favelas of Rio Degenero, Brazil an important key point that must be recognized is how these Favelas serve as homes to the incoming massive migrations from the other rural parts of Brazil. Without these Favelas how would a state with a government unable to provide basic shelter to their own citizens possibly cater to the incoming masses? Through this shift, we see how on a basic level built environment is incredibly important to the people of Rio Degener. In a Favela known as Vidigal, a man named Paulo turned what seemed to be an abandoned plot of land filled to the brim with garbage into a beautiful garden that utilizes the recycled garbage into physical structures that help keep the garden afloat. From this, we see how the proper use of the built environment can turn an unwanted unresourceful, polluted area into a functioning aspect of the community that contributes to the wellbeing of said community. In Roncinha a community set out to build a school in the heart of their Favela. While a school can technically run without the need for a physical structure the four visible walls of a classroom can greatly increase the children's want to learn. This gives us a new, well-educated generation that can help give back and support their tight-knit community in the future by investing in them while their young with providing the physical structures to support their educational journey.
